This elegant one manual organ was built by one of 19th Century New England's most progressive builders. William B. D. Simmons charted new directions with the mechanical and tonal designs of his instruments. Previously in the Baptist Church in Eastport, Maine, this organ was professionally restored and moved in 2004 to the chapel of St. John's Seminary in Brighton, to serve as an interim instrument while the chapel's unplayable main organ awaited restoration.

The pine case was repainted with a walnut faux-grain finish. The Pedal 16' Subbass was extended from thirteen to twenty-five pipes with a new pedalboard, key action and windchest. The organ has a modern silent blower, but the hand-pumping mechanism can still be used. All of the manual pipework is under expression.
